Arghhhh, you’ve been tagged!
No need to put out a hit on your cousin for the latest tag in her vacation pics. In August 2011, Facebook unveiled a bunch of new privacy features and configurations including the option to approve or reject tagged photos. After much criticism on the lack of privacy, Facebook has made some improvements. Notably, the privacy settings are now more prominent and displayed near pictures, text, blogs, etc. instead of hidden deep within the user’s profile. Although you may see this change as a pesky annoyance now, this is a good move to improve privacy awareness. Facebook is notoriously anti-privacy, so let’s hope this indicates a shift in the tide.
